Alison Trotman

In 6th grade Alison announced to her parents, “When I’m older I’m going to move to Colorado, find a remote cabin by a creek, boil my drinking water, and write all day.” An Iowa native, she traded cornfields for columbines after graduating from liberal arts school Luther College in 2000 with a Bachelor’s of Social Work. Alison ditched the idea of a remote cabin when she settled in Boulder 12 years ago, where she’s been spending most of her time focusing on her social work career and being a mother to the coolest girl she knows. She’s now in pursuit of finalizing her dream of writing all day…or at least a good majority of it. Alison is excited to explore on About Boulder one of her most favorite topics: all things parenting, Boulder style.
