Meet Glenn! “I’ve been here since 11 this morning working on this. I guess I’ve been here about 5 hours now. I’ve been doing this for about 3 years or so. What I like about this artistic process is that it is using all natural elements and can be done quickly.” Thanks Glenn!  Read More

Meet Jenna Blaire.   I found Jenna sitting outside of Lolita’s on a nice sunny afternoon. She was in an in depth conversation with an older man who seemed to be passing on some good advice.   “After I left work today, I knew I needed to gather wisdom from an elder. I ended up talking to this man who was walking by Lolita’s. He ended up teaching me a valuable piece of knowledge when I needed it most. He gave me some general guidance and pointed me in the right direction. We talked for about 15 minutes. He walked away and thought about what I said and came back half an hour later... Read More

Meet Chris and Emily.   Chris said, “If I weren’t doing this, I would be teaching at the college level. Thank god I’m not doing that. That was my backup plan and it would have been English Literature. I started working on Pearl in 1992. In 2001, the hat stand seemed to fall into my lap. I am self-employed doing this and that was my ultimate goal. All in all it’s really nice and I enjoy being at the hat stand.”   Thanks!  Read More

Meet Michael Stedman. “Fast Eddie’s actually started in this spot 25 years ago. We had a brand new cart made and still continue to serve right here on Pearl. Now for the first time ever, Fast Eddie’s has a store on the hill. We partnered with Sancho’s. Here you can eat, drink and smoke without ever leaving the establishment. This is something very rare in Boulder right now.” Thanks Michael for the Hot Dog — it was fabulous!  Read More

Meet Shelby! “I’ve lived in Boulder for five years now. I studied Environmental Design with an emphasis in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Studio Arts. Meet Nyah Layne.   ‘The didgeridoo is an extension of my soul, so I suffered when I lost it.” Nyah has a spiritual connection with the beautiful sounding wind instrument, the didgeridoo. Nyah first saw one when she was in elementary school, and was immediately drawn to the sound it made. She didn’t see one again until she was visiting San Francisco and saw one that was beautifully made with mushrooms carved on to look like they were wildly flowing from the base. When Nyah was at Mt. Shasta another time for Shasta Solstice, there was a gathering of people and she came across a man with... Read More
