The Boulder Passport Program
It basically allows you and your friends to explore 40+ locations in Boulder (of the restaurant, bar, brewery, and winery variety) by offering 2-for-1 drink specials in those locations. It’s an excellent way to hit the town with friends while exploring new Boulder spots and giving back to the BoCo economy! And being your resident Happy Hour-er/Restaurant Critic, I thought I’d take you along my summer Passport Program adventures! I’ve been on a couple so far and I thought I’d share a few recommendations!
1. St. Julien: Caprock Gin
The St. Julien’s T-Zero offers a cocktail of choice using Caprock gin or vodka. Being as it was a hot summer night, we opted for a bartender’s choice using gin. After letting him know we were fond of refreshing flavors like cucumber and basil, he whipped us up something fantastic! It was a bit like a cucumber lemonade. We took our summertime drinks out to the St. Julien patio and samba’d the night away to their live music!
2. The Corner Bar: Infused Specialty Drink
I headed over to the Boulderado’s quaint and cozy bar for a happy hour drink last week and was happy to see my Passport was accepted! That afternoon, their ‘infused speciality drink’ was a margarita featuring their house pineapple-infused tequila. The drink was light and refreshing, although a tad too sweet for my margarita liking.
3. Centro Latin Kitchen & Refreshment Palace: Mojitos
There’s nothing like a Centro brunch so I headed down one Saturday to catch a couple World Cup games and enjoy their patio. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with a classic mojito and Centro’s bartenders get it right every single time! Perfectly sweet (but not too much!) and refreshingly minty, my brunch experience was definitely a happy one.
Each Passport is valid from May 23 through September 1st to provide a summer chock full of cocktails. Unfortunately they have all sold out but you can always find a friend or two who will take you along! 🙂
Denver, Fort Collins and Brooklyn, NY are also participating cities so check their website out here for more details! Also be sure to tag YOUR adventures on Twitter and Instagram using: #passportprogram and to follow what everyone else is up to!
