Morgan Sweeney

From the rolling green mountains of Vermont, I first moved to Boulder in 2010 to begin my undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado. I was drawn to the immediate sense of community that I felt and, very quickly, Boulder became my new, earnest home. Since then, I have continued to strengthen and build the ties that link me to this city. I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado, working toward a degree in Asian Studies with a certificate in South Asian Languages and Civilizations and a minor in Religious Studies. I recently had the rewarding experience of sharing my passion about Indian culture with a handful of second grade classrooms in the Boulder Valley School District through a university-affiliated internship. Growing up just five minutes from a ski area and having competed in ski racing for the majority of my life, I have developed an unwavering passion for skiing and have fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains. Since 2011, I have worked as a contributing editor for Blister Gear Review, testing and writing reviews for new and top-of-the-line ski gear.

I consider myself to be an avid outdoorswoman, taking any available opportunity to hop in my car to road trip to the desert, to explore the vast ski territory that Colorado has to offer or to simply take advantage of the beautiful Flatirons in Boulder’s backyard. My adventurous spirit has taken me to many places around both the United States and the world, including my two most recent solo journeys to Central America and India. When I am not scouring the earth for its hidden wonders, you can find me practicing yoga, studying in a local coffee shop or practicing culinary arts in the comfort of my own home.
