Cerasus contains species that are typically called cherries. They are known as true cherries
and distinguished by having a single winter
bud per axil, by having the
flowers in small
corymbs or
umbels of several together (occasionally solitary, e.g.
P. serrula; some species with short
racemes, e.g.
P. maacki), and by having smooth fruit with no obvious groove.

• University of Colorado Boulder – Norlin Quad and Old Main light up with soft pink and white blossoms, creating one of the most iconic spring scenes in Boulder.
• Pearl Street Mall – A lively downtown setting where spring blooms mix with street performers, shops, and energy.
• Harlow Platts Park – A quieter, lakeside escape with beautiful flowering trees and mountain views.
• Boulder Creek Path – Perfect for a walk or bike ride alongside blooming trees lining the water.
