Eldorado Springs Pool: A Historic Colorado Landmark

Vintage Vibes & Mountain Waters: Eldorado Springs Pool in Yesteryear

In a time before Wi-Fi, smartphones, and streaming playlists, Eldorado Springs Pool was the place to be under the sun. This epic throwback picture captures the early 1900s charm of a pool that’s as much about community and memories as it is about mineral-rich waters and sandstone vistas.

Vintage Postcard Eldorado Springs, Colorado

Founded in 1905, Eldorado Springs Pool began as a retreat for seekers of natural healing, rustic elegance, and communal joy. Fed by a natural artesian spring, its crystalline waters were warmed by the earth and whispered tales of longevity. The architecture mirrored the times — modest, functional, and inviting. Locals would come out in full Sunday best, children chased beach balls (or rudimentary floats), and summer days were measured in cannonball splashes and laughter echoing off canyon walls.

Decades passed. The world changed in leaps — cars replaced horses, electricity illuminated evenings, and pools popped up everywhere. Eldo’s charm endured but needed love. Preservationists rallied. Plans were drafted. Repairs began. By 2024, this timeless landmark reopened, blending vintage aesthetics with modern safety and comfort.

Today in 2025, the pool is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM through Labor Day, shifting to weekends-only through September. Admission is $25 for teens and adults, $15 for kids and seniors; seasonal passes are also available. Guests enjoy a refreshed snack bar, indulgences like Eldorado Natural Spring Water (still or sparkling), and even beer and wine. Lifeguards, life jackets, and safety policies ensure every guest—whether cannonballing or lounging—has peace of mind. With its free shuttle option and parking on-site, it’s easier than ever to share in the magic.
