This weekend marks the annual tradition of the bash at Folsom Field. There is a lot of music, food, fireworks, family fun, and a run from Ralphie (the best part). However, the fireworks aren’t bad either. This weekend also marks the return of the Summer Concert Series to Folsom Field as Dead & Company take the stage on July 2nd and 3rd before the Bash on the 4th. This means that it will be one busy weekend at Folsom and people should plan accordingly for closures and traffic.

If you have not been to the event on the 4th, I highly recommend that you go at least once. If you do not want to go to Folsom, the fireworks can be seen everywhere from Pearl Street to Chautauqua. There are a variety of places for one to view this show. It can also be seen from parks to the north and the east of the city.

Keep in mind as well that it is one of the weekends that police will be out and enforcing for DUI rules. Prepare to stop at checkpoints should you go out on the roads. If you plan to drink, try not to drive at all (it’s pretty easy to walk in Boulder) and, if you do, be careful and ask around for checkpoints.

Keep all of these things in mind as you go out with your friends to celebrate this weekend and make it a fun and safe one. Now, get out there and be as ‘murican as possible. Let freedom ring!
