Lensworth here! Still buzzing with Jorma magic!

What a show! Next to Boulder, 30 minutes up the road, at the iconic Paramount art deco theater, Jorma Kaukonen played as part of his 85th Birthday tour.

Jorma , of Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, and so much more, stepped onto the famed  stage and reminded everyone why his name sits so comfortably among the greats. He was joined by friends, including his long-time bass genius partner Jack Casady.

Jorma was joined by a band that included  fellow musicians who elevated the evening into something truly rare. Among them was Carlos Nakai, widely regarded as the most famous Native American flute player in the world, whose presence alone changes the air in a room.

This was not just a concert. It was a flawless, deeply human performance, unlike anything I have ever heard from Jorma, Jack, and friends. The audience was spellbound from the first note to the last, carried effortlessly from classic  finger-style blues in the tradition of Reverend Gary Davis to moments of breathtaking stillness created by the sublime sound of the Native American flute.

It was generous, soulful, and quietly powerful. One of those nights that reminds you why live music matters, and why some artists never stop getting better.
