Boulder Weekend Events
Although the weather will remain questionable for weeks to come, there is no reason you cannot enjoy all that Boulder has to offer this weekend, especially in the realm of family activities. Sunday is Mother’s Day, and the goal is to distract Mom from the spring chill and rain with some good old-fashioned quality time.
Saturday, May 9
Start the weekend off right with the Mother’s Day Flower Show in the Canyon Gallery of this library. Bring your mother to see the over 75 various ikebana flowers and arrangements on display.
This event is being sponsored by the Ikenobo Ikebana Society Society of America, and experts will be on hand to describe the art of “ikebana,” the Japanese art of flower arrangement, to attendees. Gain some skills in order to impress your mom with a personally arranged bouquet on Mother’s Day.
Time: 10am
Cost: Free
Location: Boulder Public Library, Main Branch.
Join the pros of Whole Foods Market as they teach you and your mother how to make some Mother’s Day Treats. This is a great opportunity to spend some much needed quality time with the woman who brought you into this world. What better way to pamper her then with some delicious (and natural) goodies?
Time: 2pm
Cost: Free
Location: Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library, Eisenhower Room, Broomfield.
Let the sugar high continue as you make your way to the Cacao Girl Free Chocolate Sampling. Cacao Girl and their all-American treats from their farm in Hawaii are sure to impress Mom, as their beans are transported to Colorado and the chocolate is made locally.
Customers can buy chocolate gifts, as well as offer up their opinions on the tasting room choices to the staff of Cacao Girl. Enjoy your time at 300 Suns Brewing by trying one of their many local beers on tap, like the St. Vrain Chain Gang Radler or the Rabbit Mountain Red Ale.

A special batch of pickle and pepperoncini-infused vodka Bloody Mary will be available for $6 alongside the Grande Mimosa and the House Bloody Mary.
