Our Boulder day starts at different times for all of us. Swing shift and late shift throw a monkey wrench into the sunrise/get up paradigm. In spite of that there is something so “morning” about morning. For a few brief minutes many mornings we are treated to a light show. The display can vary from a bright red orange tiny glow on the Eastern horizon to a full sky of red-orange challenging even the widest of wide angle lenses. Sunrises may look similar on some days, yet every one is unique. This fingerprint of the rising sun is a one-of-a-kind display of color and form.

These pictures are “typical” if such magnificence can be call “typical.” I think that “glorious,” “dramatic,” “jaw-dropping,” and “spectacular” are better adjectives for “sunrise” in Boulder!
