The Bitter Bar is a local bar that serves simple cocktails made with passion, not pretense.
Contrary to popular belief, we are not named after the the delicious aromatic alcohol, bitters, but for the intense taste of the earliest spirits. Harsh and abrasive, the original whiskey, gin and rye could only be tamed by adding water, sugar, citrus and medicinal bitters… hence the cocktail.
The Bitter Bar embraces the spirit of the original method and technique of rounding out the edges with simple, clean flavors.
