On any given day, you’ll most likely find Aimee either hiking the Flatirons or in the kitchen experimenting with new vegan recipes. Aimee is a recent graduate from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a double major in Studio Art and Film Production. She currently works as a freelance video editor for clients ranging from Yoga Journal to Warren Miller Entertainment. If you asked her to work on a fun project or experimental film, she’d most likely say, “When, where, and what do we need to get started?”

Humans have always had a complicated relationship with weather. Ancient cultures prayed and made offerings to gods in hopes of receiving conditions conducive to growing crops. Adverse weather, then, was often interpreted as displeasure on behalf of those same beings—a punishment for failing to observe proper rituals. It doesn’t take a history scholar to understand this impulse. Weather, now as then, is both an enemy and ally. On one hand, it provides everything from the raw material for food—sunlight driving photosynthesis, wind the primary method of plants spreading their seeds—to …

Sometimes, writing about art and theater feels a lot like falling down the proverbial rabbit hole as I try to find the angle to write about wandering through a haunted-theater immersive experience, getting splashed in a Halloween horror show in the basement of a spaghetti emporium, sweating through a DIY D&D in a comic shop, savoring (har har!) Guess who I found exploring Chautauqua Park? This lovely lady, Julia Fallman. It's safe to say that Julia is making a positive impact on the Boulder community, not only at Impact Hub Boulder as a Communications and Programming Coordinator, but also at Unreasonable Institute as a Global Labs Maverick. Julia describes Boulder as, "a sunny place where entrepreneurship meets the outdoors. In one day I could go for a trail run, go to work, climb the Flatirons, and grab dinner at the farmers market." Cheers to that Julia!

Meet Zach Myers, an uber talented Film Production undergrad from CU Boulder. One time near Pearl Street, when Zach was still new in town, an older guy on a longboard rolled up to him and said, "Yo man, keep shredding on that sunbeam," and rolled away. When asked what he likes about Boulder, Zach replied, "I like how Boulder sits at the foot of the mountains, so I can walk out my door and ski, hike, or roll down a hill." This is true Zach, this is true.

I found Amy leaving Blackbelly Market on this beautiful fall day, and asked her about her all-black attire. Her answer: "Yesterday I wore too much color." Out of towners often ask Amy Levine,“Why is everyone from Boulder so happy and friendly all the time?" She always responds with the question, “Have you seen a picture of Colorado?" We couldn't agree more!

Look who I caught in the middle of a good laugh! This is the lovely Brittany Weeks. She is a CU English and Psychology graduate hailing from Littleton, CO. When asked her favorite thing about Boulder, she replied, "The hot yoga moms and all the dietary needs." If you're wondering where you can find Ms. Weeks, her favorite Boulder hangs are Alfalfas, the trails of Mt. Sanitas, and most all of the local bookstores.
