Boulder Events This Week: Music, Mushrooms, and Midsummer Magic (July 7–13)

Boulder is buzzing with activity this week as summer continues to shine. From community gardening to live concerts and Shakespeare under the stars, there’s something for everyone to enjoy between July 7–13. Here’s your official weekly roundup.


Monday, July 7 Highlights

Garden Workday at SEEC Community Garden
Kick off the week by giving back to the land. The SEEC Community Garden is hosting a full-day volunteer event open to anyone interested in sustainability, farming, and connection. It’s a great way to meet like-minded locals while helping things grow.

Mindful Awareness for Focus & Attention (Virtual)
Ease into the week with a 30-minute online mindfulness workshop. Designed to improve mental clarity and presence, it’s a quick recharge for busy professionals and students alike.

Topophilia Map Exhibit – CU Boulder
Explore the emotional bond between people and place at the Earth Sciences & Map Library. The “Topophilia” exhibit showcases creative cartography that blends science, art, and personal geography.

Mushroom Inoculation Workshop
Held at Table Mesa Community Garden, this hands-on event teaches participants how to grow mushrooms and understand mycelium’s role in regenerative agriculture. An ideal outing for those interested in local food systems and sustainability.

Boulder Cruiser Ride – Greenleaf Park
Wrap up your Monday with Boulder’s favorite bike tradition. The Cruiser Ride invites cyclists of all skill levels to join a themed group ride through town. Expect fun costumes, laughter, and community spirit.


Wednesday, July 9

Bands on the Bricks – Pearl Street Mall
Live music returns to the bricks this Wednesday evening with a performance by Selasee & The Fafa Family. This free outdoor concert series is one of Boulder’s longest-running summer traditions, bringing energy, dancing, and a beer garden to the heart of downtown.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival
Running through August 10, this year’s festival includes Richard II and The Tempest, performed indoors at CU Boulder’s Roe Green Theatre. The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a Boulder cultural institution, offering world-class performances each summer.

Colorado Music Festival – Chautauqua Auditorium
