Miniature Camera Works! Boulder’s Twin Lens Reflex Look Alike Takes Good Pictures

Do these camera’s really work? Appearing on Amazon under a number of names this miniature camera really works. I’ve tried it on macro pictures with good results. Mechanically I’ve had problems so I can’t speak to it long term. Short term, the macro shots of flowers are surprisingly good. Notice the pollen on the white petals showing clearly. 

While it is not a true twin lens reflex, it is a real camera.

The vertical viewing configuration is very handy for macro closeups. The clarity is quite sufficient for closeups. Although it is not a toy, it can be used as one. At $under $50 it crosses the ine from toy to small camera. The instructions are so small as to be invisible. I had to use AI to get usable instructions. Then, with some playing, I learned to  use many of the camera’s features. One limitation is that the manual/auto focus is a little tricky. It is hard to tell if it focusing on manual or auto focus. 

As a bonus, it does shoot video also. I am not a video shooter, but it seemed to work just fine shooting video shots. TIP: Don’t hold the shutter. To shoot stills, push the shutter quickly.
