A Tuskegee Airman Celebrates International Goof Off Day, National Daffodil Day, International Seal Day, and Bavarian Crepes Day!

Is today just another Boulder Friday, or is it also MARCH 22! Of course it is both. We all know what is special about TGIF Friday. However, we must not overlook the special significance of March 22 as a day of multi-faceted celebration. Today we celebrate a long list of holidays. Personally, I believe in being an equal opportunity holiday celebrant. I believe in celebrating all holidays! Why not? International Goof Off Day falling on a Friday is the kind of synchronicity we love.

The problem with Goof Off Day is that we never finish the flyers, never finish preparing lunch, and have to hire someone else to do our blogs. It is astonishing just how time-consuming it can be to goof off for a day. Start with a list of things you are not going to do, since you’re goofing off. Don’t worry about the second list, since a dedicated goofer offer will not finish the initial list. The initial list of an intended 10 items usually does not get passed the first three items.

National Bavarian Crepes Day: A day to enjoy and celebrate Bavarian crepes, a type of thin pancake that can be filled with sweet or savory fillings. That solves what to eat for breakfast. Writing this blog of course led me to a great Bavarian Crepes recipe. I’d be done cooking the crepes already if it were not Goof Off Day.

As Young As You Feel Day: Encourages people to break away from the constraints of age and to feel young at heart.

The famed Tuskkegee Airmen celebrate Tuskegee Airmen Day. This is a tribute to the idols of many, the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee Airmen were a pioneering group of African-American military pilots who fought in World War II. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. Training at Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama, these men overcame racial discrimination and skepticism to prove their valor and skill in combat. Their exemplary performance and dedication paved the way for the integration of the U.S. armed forces, marking a significant milestone in the civil rights movement. Their legacy is not just about their aerial victories but also their contribution to breaking down racial barriers in the military and beyond.
Daffodils and seals frolic and flower on the Pearl Street Mall and provide an added bonus to the celebratory vibes of this special Friday.
