Motivational Monday: DAILY ACTION is required for desired results!

Motivational MondayHello Everyone and Happy Monday!  Are you ready for some motivation for this week?  What if I could give you something better than just “motivation”?  What if I could give you a tool that you can use every day to achieve your goals and vision for your life?  If that sounds like something you would like, then keep reading!

If you wanted to get in shape to compete in an event like a marathon, a century ride or a Spartan race, you would expect to train for at least 3 months, right?  And you would probably expect that you would need to work out consistently throughout the week, right?   Why not take a similar approach to any other goal you have for yourself?  You must do some sort of “work out” every day to get you closer to your desired result.  The workout I am referring to is your daily mental workout.  You must daily program your mind to align with your goals if you want to see the results you deeply desire!

I have studied success strategies from many different “gurus” and every one of them preaches the importance of taking daily action toward your goal. They also all agree on the concept that your thoughts determine your reality.  We are constantly creating our outcomes based on what we program into our minds.  You might be thinking, ok that’s good to know, but HOW do I change my thoughts to get what I want? I recommend starting every day by consciously creating your thoughts to determine who you want to “be” for the day.  I think of it as creating a “to be” list rather than a “to do” list.  I suggest you make a written list, putting pen to paper makes your statements much more effective than just thinking about it.  You must ask yourself, who do I need to be in order to get what I want?  For example, let’s say you are investing in real estate and want to make a profit on a fix and flip.  Your “be” list would be something like:  I am a successful real estate investor and make wise decisions when purchasing properties.  Let’s say you are a competitive soccer player, a sample mental programming could be, “I drive the ball down the field with speed and accuracy.  I shoot the ball into the back of the net and score often!”  Keep in mind that there are many different thoughts you can use to program your mind, just as there are hundreds of different drills that exist to make you faster and stronger.   The “I am” statement is a very powerful component of creating the results you desire.  This is not a “one size fits all” exercise.  Whatever thoughts you choose to program into your subconscious mind must resonate with your conscious mind on a level that is real and believable, otherwise it won’t work.

This is different than just setting goals.  Goal setting is still important, but you must also program your mind to align with your goals if you ever expect to achieve your goals.  The mental programming is a critical piece that I think many people ignore.

If you carve out 5 minutes a day for your mental workout and commit to doing this every day for a minimum of 30 days, you will see changes in your life!  As a bonus, for anyone reading this article, I am willing to review your “to be” list and give you some coaching around ways to make your list as powerful as it can be.  Email me at julie@juliedale.com if you would like to take me up on that offer.  I have seen this change people’s lives over and over and I know it can do the same for you.  Gerry Robert, best-selling author of The Millionaire Mindset, came up with something he calls “Captain and the Crew.” I love the way he explains how the subconscious mind responds to the conscious mind directive and how to create a daily list that moves you toward your goals.  Go to captainandcrewmovement.com if you would like more structure around the “how to” of this daily mental workout that I am suggesting.

This week’s challenge:

  • Start your daily mental workouts TODAY!
  • Start with a small goal of 5 minutes a day for only 7 days. If you can do 7 days, you can do 30.  And then 60, and then 90.  Consistency is the key to lasting change and results!
