Sun sets, temps drop! Keys call! Key West beckons! On Key West, the “temp drop” might be to a mere 70° F, 21° C. Key West is famous for its sunsets for good reason. As the sun drops, all gather on the pier to watch the color calliope that in part defines the Key West Winter experience. Even Boulderites occasionally leave the Boulder Valley we call home. The famous “green flash” as the sun sets is a visual treat of fleeting, and I mean fleeting excitement!

As we adjust to winter temps, days like today will seem warm by comparison. “Freezing” will be downright balmy, and days above 32 °F, 0°C, will be welcomed as harbingers of Spring!!! Sometimes it is merely a matter of wearing the right warm clothing. Sometimes it means merely donning skis.  Sometimes being at home in front of the fireplace is just fine and totally sufficient. After all, Key West or the Boulder Valley, you’re there, and there you are!
