Boulder’s Art Fest had woodworker Robert Wilhelm as an exhibitor and I loved his work! Robert, out of Santa Fe, was showing salt and pepper shakers. But not just any shakers. These whimsical wonders scream “look at me!”

On the one hand with a wood lathe, some paint and we could do this too.  NOT! In addition to the skills on the lathe and with paint, and the brilliant work with color and line, it’s the creative imagination that brings these hunks of wood to life. Taking the art to the next level by filling it with coarse or extra coarse Himalayan Pink sea salt, what could follow except a beautiful table, a great meal, and happy diners?

When I see this group, I think “patience!” While there might be an easy quick way to do this, I sure don’t see it.
