It has been announced that Boulder Creek is once more open for inner tubing enthusiasts. The Boulder Creek’s river discharge is down to just over 300 cubic feet per second (cfs), which means it’s safe for tubing. It’s not necessarily going to be a smooth ride, however. Normal creek rates are typically between 100 and 300 cfs, so the river levels are still a bit higher than average. Due to Colorado’s recent monsoon season, river levels have begun to rise an extraordinary amount. River levels in the spring are typically much lower, and Boulder has had to make a few adjustments because of this. For example, at Boulder Creek Fest, the normally calm river was turning parts of the creek area into swampland. The annual Boulder Creek Rubber Duck Race was even moved to an inflatable pool due to the river levels being too high.
