The Colorado Chautauqua, founded in 1898 in Boulder, Colorado, United States, is the only Chautauqua west of the Mississippi River still in continuous operation since the 1920s, during the height of the Chautauqua Movement. It is one of the few Chautauquas still in operation in the United States and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006.According to the Colorado Chautauqua Association, it is also the only Chautauqua that operates throughout the year. In order to make the most of these last few weeks of August, here are a couple things to keep in mind: School is starting up again.
