Boulder hosts local a cappella band FACE tonight at the Boulder Theater!

In Boulder, the third time is charmed! After having to reschedule twice, the Boulder-based A Cappella band, FACE, is performing tonight at the Boulder Theater. Tickets are heavily discounted and some are still available. This is a show for all ages and not to be missed. Their talent and arrangements and I believe limited sing-along possiblity  will make for a memorable wonderful economical evening at the always-great Boulder Theater! Doors open at 7 PM, show at 7:30 PM. This is literally good vibrations!

For the physicists amongst you, remember that when two notes are sung together, a third note, is generated, a beat frequency, which is in harmony with the two sung notes. The whole IS greater than the sum of the parts. Imagine the number of combinations generated by five-part harmony! You can literally feel the magic through to your core. The only thing that is even more fun, and which enhances the extra good vibrations, is being able to sing along a little, which may be a small part of the festivities.

Tickets are available, and don’t wait so that you have the widest choice of seating. While December Boulder winds can’t be controlled, the band CAN rise to the occasion. As their hometown audience, we can also rise to the occasion, both showing our loyalty and our local support for this most amazing band.

I am not new to A Cappella. Think Livingston High School, 1970, New Jersey. Think Woodstock. If you’ve seen the movie or actually were at Woodstock, , you’ll recall a guy standing on stage-right, singing the lead to “At The Hop”  with the band  Sha Na Na. They were a fortuitous last-minute addition to the iconic performances and to this truly iconic piece of cultural and musical history.  Pants that were too short showing off his white socks and featured significantly in the movie, was my friend Alan Cooper.  Alan  went on to become a biblical scholar and Rabbi. In High School, I was lucky enough to have him as a singing partner. His father, a cantor, taught us to sing harmony while we were being given a lift by him We were not yet old enough to get drivers’ licenses. We performed folk music including a lot of Mitchel Trio and more. I did not make it to the Woodstock Stage, but we did make it to the various high school talent shows and the like. Alan not only made it to the stage, but to a major role in the event and the movie Woodstock.! To be one step removed from the iconic performance still makes me smile. Alan was the one with the voice and the talent. I was good at showing up, and that was enough.

Boulder Theater from the front will host FACE tonight

Boulder Theater, where independent film, live performance, and Boulder’s creative community meet, hosts FACE tonight. Doors at 7, show at 7:30 PM.

There is time to get tickets. There’s still time to take advantage of the bargain prices offered by the band as their way of saying “we may have had to reschedule, and we’re still here for you!”

Shared Harmony Is Power! Be a part of the magic
