The Yellow Barn on North Broadway near the Greenbriar is a wonderful subject. This is sketched and then AI rendered and then, to come, a painting of this AI rendering.  I wanted to share my process. It’s only partially magic red barns and yellow barns. The Yellow Barn offers all types of activities for children and for adults. 

My use of a combination of painting, AI, pencil, and photography has generated fascinating discussion.  Is a work which is partially “created” by AI count as art? Is it a painting? I suspect it is NOT a painting unless it is done with a brush and paint or a palette and paint.  But it can be a model for a painting! Whether it is a landscape or a still life or something else, most artists work from models, and mine are no exception.

My “in process” work is a pencil sketch. I took the pencil piece and fed it to AI. I had AI do a rendering from the pencil. I printed that and used it as a model for an actual palette knife on canvas piece. This is the AI piece done from my original crude barn. Paint the sky first, barn second.
