Colorado Casino Games currently include an enticing list of the most popular gaming options anywhere. Within shouting distance of Boulder, our original short list of games has grown to encompass the gaming wishes of all! From slots to sports gambling, once again Colorado and Boulder offer something for everyone. Gambling for all skill levels, for all personal preferences and for all ranges of risk save the highest levels of gambling is at our fingertips, a short beautiful mountain drive up the hill. Once again Boulderites

1. Slot Machines: A staple of any casino, slot machines are abundant in Colorado, offering a variety of themes, payouts, and denominations. The rate of pay off is controlled by the casino more than by the rules of probability, statistics, and luck.

2. Blackjack: This popular card game is widely available, with many casinos offering multiple tables with varying bet limits.Knowing the most basic parts of the game is not enough in my opinion. Options such as “double down” and “splitting” can give the player a significant added edge when used properly. While card counting not illegal generally, it is of less use and provides less advantage when the multiple deck “shoe” is made of three or more decks. The skilled counter may do quite well with a two deck “shoe,” and should do marvelously well with a single deck. You will not, I believe, find either a single deck or two deck “shoe” from which the cards are dealt. Even as few as three is unusual in my limited experience.

3. Poker: Many Colorado casinos have dedicated poker rooms offering daily cash games and tournaments. Common variations include Texas Hold’em and Omaha. Practice this at home with clay chips and with little or no real money on the table. If you never win with the chips having no real monetary value, you may not be ready to play this on the casino floor. I found a GREAT set of “real” clay chips at Costco once for about $30.00  Playing with the clay chips is way more fun than playing with plastic chips.

4. Roulette: Both American (double zero) and European (single zero) roulette wheels are found in Colorado casinos, providing players with the chance to bet on their favorite numbers, colors, or sections. Betting on RED or BLACK is one of the better bets in the casino. The edge for the House lies in the zero and double zero. Otherwise it would be a 50/50 bet.

happiness, lucky number, roulette

5. Craps: This dice game is a favorite among many gamblers and can be found in several Colorado casinos. It offers various types of bets on the outcome of the dice roll. Perhaps more than any other option, playing and betting properly can improve the player’s odds to almost equal the casino’s odds of winning. Be sure to have a good understanding of basic play and basic good betting strategy to take advantage of the possible advantage!

6. Three Card Poker: A simpler form of poker that’s fast-paced and easy to learn. Players compete against the dealer to make the best three-card hand.

7. Baccarat: Known for its association with high rollers, baccarat is also available in Colorado casinos, offering a straightforward betting system on either the player’s hand, the banker’s hand, or a tie. This is the table where James Bond and Goldfinger will be found.

8. Video Poker: Combining elements of poker and slot machines, video poker is a popular electronic game where players aim to make the best possible five-card hand. Again, playing to maximize your odds of winning is of huge importance.

9. Sports Betting: Following recent changes in legislation, sports betting is now legal and available in many Colorado casinos, both at physical sportsbooks and through online betting apps.

10. Keno and Bingo: Some casinos offer keno and bingo games, which are lottery-style games where players pick numbers in hopes of matching them with drawn numbers for cash prizes.

11. Finally, be comfortable, avoid being distracted, and remember that “free drinks” are never free!
