This week was my last first week of my last semester of college. Though that is bitter sweet, I’m not going to let the senioritis set in just yet. There are too many activities happening on campus to even allow me to think about graduation. Some of these activities are:

  • Seeing Laverne Cox speak at Macky Auditorium on January 25th
  • BuffsUnited: An evening of poetry, performance and community art projects. The first 100 students to go to this event will receive a ticket to see Laverne Cox speak
  • Friday Night Film in Chem 140. These are films that are screened on campus before they are even released in the theater for the public. This is great for students who love movies but are on a tight budget.
  • If you’re looking to meet some new people, go to Buffs, Boardgames and Basketball on January 21st from 7-10:30pm at the UMC, the Connection 105. Students are getting together to cheer on the Denver Nuggets as they take on Los Angeles Clippers. There will be free food and entertainment!
  • If you’re looking to go to a concert, RL Grime and TyDolla Sign are performing on campus at the Balch Fieldhouse on February 25th. Student tickets are on sale for $25-$35 or $45 for the general public.
  • If you’re looking for a part time job, CU Night Ride is hiring. Getting paid to drive students around is also a great way to network! You never know who you might meet.

There are always lots of things happening on campus, so get involved!

Lily is a senior at the University of Colorado at Boulder and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies along with a certificate in Business. She is originally from Scarborough, Maine, but decided to venture to Colorado for it's beauty and to get back in touch with her birth place which is Boulder. She is a Film Studies major because she is very interested in the behind the scenes of what goes into making a film. Not only that, but her favourite hobby in the world is to watch movies. She recently went abroad to Sydney, Australia to get a taste of a different culture. While being there, she learned to not take life too seriously, and to slow things down. The Australian lifestyle can really teach a person how to be chill. You can find Lily at the movies, hanging on Pearl Street having a beer with friends, or at the breathtaking lookout of Flagstaff enjoying the view.
