Kelly Angelovic, Boulder Artist: Owning Beauty, Showing Up, Living True

In the heart of Boulder lives an artist whose life and work embody a deep reverence for integrity, beauty, and joy—Kelly Angelovic. To know Kelly is to recognize that her art is not just something she creates, but an extension of her values, woven seamlessly into her way of being.

Integrity is her compass. For Kelly, it means treating others the way she wishes to be treated, an ethos she extends not only to those around her but to herself as well. This wasn’t always easy. Like many of us, she spent years believing the relentless voice of her inner critic before learning to quiet it, choosing instead to move forward with self-trust and courage.

Kelly’s integrity extends beyond human connection to the earth itself. She walks gently, drawing from Buddhist wisdom to “do no harm.” This reverence finds its way into her work: landscapes that breathe, flowers that unfurl, botanicals that remind us of our place in a larger, fragile web of life. She holds herself to a standard that reflects not only who she is but who she aspires to be.

Equally powerful is her devotion to making the world a little more beautiful. For Kelly, beauty is a form of generosity: the best we have to offer one another. In her younger years, Kelly dismissed her reverence for beautiful things as superficial distraction. These days, she embraces it fully. Art and beauty stir something within us, lifting us out of survival mode, and offering purpose and meaning. Her paintings, enlivening homes and spaces, remind us that art redeems, it heals, it makes life worth living.

And then there is fun—her bonus value. In a world often marked by heaviness and hardship, Kelly chooses laughter as medicine. She knows that when we hold life too tightly, we get stuck. Art flows best when approached with playfulness, curiosity, and lightness. Fun keeps her process alive, keeping her work—and her spirit—resilient. When I asked Kelly what she most wanted Boulder to know, her answer was simple: I’m here, and I sell art. Yet beneath this practicality is a choice that changed everything for her. As an entrepreneur and artist, she made the decision not to give up. She chose to grow, to evolve, to keep showing up—despite the vulnerability of putting her heart and soul on display for the world to judge. Selling art, she admits, can feel slightly masochistic: offering the deepest parts of herself and asking the world, What do you think? But still, she persists. Because for Kelly, there is no other path. She paints not just with color, but with devotion, passion, and presence. Quiet, discerning, thoughtful—she embodies strength and grace.

To me, Kelly is not only an artist but a leader. Through her integrity, her reverence for beauty, and her playful spirit, she inspires others to choose more consciously, to invite more artfulness into daily life, and to see beauty as a force that keeps us alive. When she’s not creating, Kelly also works with other artists as a creativity coach, building momentum and progress by helping them tap into their own authentic power.
