Faces of Boulder ~ Courtney!

April 30th, 2022

Meet Courtney!  She has been here in Boulder for ten years and she says she has never been bored since living here! “There is so much park and open space and water here,” she says.  Courtney has been a nanny for ten years, so having so much open space has been great for the kids, too! Courtney rides horses, kaiaks and loves the outdoors.  She also loves Boulder for its options with healthcare. “Boulder is so integrative and the community is saturated with therapists,” she says, which is great for Courtney, who is in school for clinical counseling! Thanks Courtney!  Read More

Faces of Boulder – Pic of The Day!

December 31st, 2021

“Hello Joshua, I’m from Colorado Springs and I have three sisters and my two older sisters went to CSU for college and when I viewed the campus on my visit there and then compared it to what I viewed at the CU campus, I could already see that I was leaning towards this beautiful university. Honestly, I kind of wanted to do something different from my older sisters, so when I saw Boulder, I just thought this would be a cool and phenomenal place, and it’s so beautiful so I figured why not. I think that my favorite thing about Boulder is the people that I’ve met and see and... Read More

Three Ways Technology is Improving Your Healthcare

December 31st, 2021

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health technology as “the application of organized knowledge and skills in the form of devices, medicines, vaccines, procedures and systems developed to solve a health problem and improve quality of lives.” We live in an era where technology touches our lives almost everywhere, but in terms of healthcare, we have more access than ever to our healthcare providers and tools to guide our personal health strategy.  For example, mobile apps give us access to price comparisons for prescription medicines. Fitness devices and apps can give us feedback on... Read More

What People Over 55 Should Know About Marijuana and Healthcare

July 5th, 2020

Are you over the age of 55?  (If you’re not, share this with your parents or grandparents, please.)  How do you feel about marijuana?  You’ve probably grown up in the post baby boomer generation when the war on drugs included marijuana labeled as the gateway drug. That probably sounds crazy, given the fact that 28 states now have laws in place for legal access to cannabis, while ten states have measures on the 2018 ballot.  While scientific evidence shows the medical benefits of cannabis, beware of political scare tactics that use the word “marijuana” as they are often inaccurate, false,... Read More

Cannabis and Athletics at the MJ for MDs 2018

October 20th, 2018

The Marijuana for Medical Professionals 2018 conference in Denver started on Sunday morning, October 14th, wrapped up at the end of the day on Tuesday, October 16th, and it was incredible! I spent three packed days soaking up valuable cannabis education from physicians, nurses, and other leading experts in the industry. With the majority of these presentations being accredited for continuing medical and nursing education credits, it was one of the most comprehensive and informative conferences I’ve had the pleasure of attending. On top of learning so much, I’m very happy to report there was... Read More

Startup of the Month: Wu Mountain Tea Company

October 20th, 2015

It’s that time of the week again, and to kick things off I’m implementing a new topic. Once a month I will be blogging about an up and coming startup in Boulder. For the first “Startup of the Month”, I will be focusing on a recent tea startup called Wu Mountain Tea. Wu Mountain was co-founded by University of Colorado Student, Dylan Rothenberg. Dylan, President of Wu Mountain Tea, originally went to China as a Boren Scholar to study Chinese, and ended-up living and working in the famous Tea Markets of Gungzhou where he learned to source tea for a European premium tea distributor.... Read More
