Hand Me My Orange Colored Glasses

October 23rd, 2018

Doubters may look at Denver’s 45-10 victory over the Arizona Cardinals as a needed win over an awful team.  Rookie QB Josh Rosen threw two interceptions that went for scores, the Cardinals had five turnovers, and Arizona dropped to 1-6 in the standings. Sure, the Broncos three wins have come against teams that have a combined 5-14 record, but after a season full of frustration, here are six reasons to look at Denver’s first road win of the season with orange colored glasses. Von Miller – With just 1.5 sacks during Denver’s four-game losing streak, Miller called out Arizona and his own... Read More

Broncos Prediction – Did You Say Playoffs?

September 4th, 2018

Whether it’s facing rookie quarterbacks, unknown entities, or a coach that hasn’t blown a whistle in nine years, here’s predicting what looks to be an unpredictable season for the Orange and Blue. Seattle Seahawks – The Seahawks (9-7) cleaned house after missing the playoffs and are replacing ten starters from last year’s squad.  No more Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, Jimmy Graham, and All-Pro Earl Thomas is a holdout.  Russel Wilson could beat the Broncos by himself, but with banged up receivers, rookie running backs, and a hyped-up home crowd with lofty aspirations, the Broncos... Read More

Bronco Draft Gives Them a Chubb

May 1st, 2018

With all the speculation leading towards the Denver Broncos selecting a quarterback-of-the-future in this year’s NFL draft, gun-slinger John Elway failed to pull the trigger, but didn’t draw a blank.  After Cleveland continued its historic failure of drafting quarterbacks by selecting Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick, the Browns compounded their mistake by selecting Denzel Ward (CB/Florida State) providing the Broncos a gift of edge-rushing proportions. It’s possible that Elway had his eye on Mayfield or Sam Darnold (USC), but after both quarterbacks were taken off... Read More

Denver’s Draft Pick – Fairly Obvious

March 20th, 2018

Now that John Elway has his quarterback, predicting who the Broncos will take with the fifth pick in the 2018 NFL draft is fairly obvious.   It may not be sexy, but Denver needs major help on their offensive line so look for Elway to select Quenton Nelson, a beast of a lineman out of Notre Dame.  You can pencil Nelson in as an immediate starter and a future pro-bowler for years to come. Actually, since we’re doing this in pencil…Case Keenum only signed a two-year deal for basically Brock Osweiler money, which means Elway doesn’t see him as the long-term solution, but more of a stop-gap... Read More

Quarterback Carousel

November 21st, 2017

As Brock Osweiler failed to impress, Paxton Lynch failed to improve, and Trevor Siemian failed to make the game day roster, the Denver Broncos set their sights on next year to figure out their quarterback issues. Whether John Elway believes Denver is in a rebuilding stage or a few players away, finding a franchise quarterback for next year won’t be easy. Here is a list of the top ten options for next season, and the odds of making it happen. 1) Paxton Lynch (Odds of starting 2:1) – Over the last ten years every first-round quarterback selected has been allotted at least half a season before... Read More

Forget the Decision – Go Get Phillip Rivers

August 1st, 2017

While the Denver Broncos try and decide whether Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch should start at quarterback in 2017, the smart play is for John Elway to roll the dice again on a 35-year-old veteran to save the day. Long before Siemian and Lynch were in diapers and throwing tantrums, Phillip Rivers was in the NFL throwing touchdowns. With an elite defense and Super Bowl aspirations, Denver can’t afford growing pains. Here are five reasons that Phillip Rivers could transform the Broncos into a Super Bowl contender. 1) It takes about five years of experience to really excel at the quarterback... Read More
