There are four species of hummingbirds that are commonly seen in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. The most common hummingbirds you’ll encounter are the Broad-tailed (Selasphorus platycercus) and Rufous (Selasphorus rufus). The Calliope (Selasphorus calliope) and Black-chinned (Archilochus alexandri) hummingbirds are less common. photo credit: Tony Harman
