Boulder County Brewery Wins Several Great American Beer Festival Awards
The Great American Beer Festival awards medals to 25 Colorado breweries.
Longmont’s Left Hand Brewing Co. was the big winner, taking home two medals, silver for its Milk Stout in the oatmeal stout category and bronze for its St. Vrain in the Belgian-style strong specialty ale category. It also won the coveted title of Brewery of the Year in the 15,000 to 100,000 barrel production range.
The Great American Beer Festival features a beer competition in addition to the opportunity to sample fine beer. Breweries submit their beers to the festival’s professional judge panel for evaluation. During the tasting sessions, festival goers can also sample the beers entered in the competition.
