Humans have always had a complicated relationship with weather. Ancient cultures prayed and made offerings to gods in hopes of receiving conditions conducive to growing crops. Adverse weather, then, was often interpreted as displeasure on behalf of those same beings—a punishment for failing to observe proper rituals. His favorite hobbies are Barbecuing, playing pickup football, and hanging outside with his friends. Jon considers Boulder his home, and plans to spend as much time as possible enjoying Colorado's outdoors before returning to Seattle. Watch out for Jon on campus. Savanna Bathke hails from Los Angeles, California but came to Boulder because of her love for the outdoors and all the music surrounding Colorado. She has a diverse taste in music, but does not consider any genre to be out of her realm of interest. This past week, she was able to see Black Sabbath perform at the Pepsi Center! Savanna is a huge Colorado Buffalo fan (as you can see in the photo) and considers Boulder a second home. She hopes to visit Boulder and the rest of Colorado for years to come.

The hiking, skiing, biking, and attending concerts at her favorite venue, Red Rocks, are just a few of the reasons Katherine has stuck around. “I never saw any reason to leave. Trent Cady is from Newport Beach, California. Always in search of adventure, Trent saw a lot of opportunity for outdoor activities when choosing schools. Boulder seemed like the right fit, and since deciding to go, Trent has never looked back. You can find Trent snowboarding at Breck in the winter, and wake boarding on any lake that allows boats in the summer. Trent is also a lover of skateboarding. Jack Feldman moved to Boulder from Marin County California to pursue a degree in finance. Jack is a passionate student who did not want to sacrifice schooling for the surrounding area around him. For this reason, Boulder seemed like a great fit. Jack loves the outdoors as well. An active snowboarder, Jack takes every opportunity to head up to the mountains to shred as much as he can. He also loves frequenting his favorite restaurants for happy hour with his friends. Make sure to say hi to Jack if you see him around Boulder or up in the mountains while the snow is still there!
