Grow Your Career: 3 Cannabis Friendly Career Search Engines

Let’s face it.  In 2020, searching for a good job (in an industry that you’re interested in and that pays the bills) is almost as lonely and desperate as looking for love on Tinder!  While networking, building your skills, and having the knowledge/skills needed are always important aspects when searching for the right job, it’s also important to be looking in the right areas for the best opportunities.   In the digital age, most opportunities are buried in an overload of online sites and career search engines.  Sites like LinkedIn, Craigslist, Monster.com, and Glassdoor are great when looking for careers in fully established industries.   However, if you’re someone looking for a job in the still very new and regulated Cannabis Industry these sites may be less than helpful.   Hope is not lost!   There are sites and services out there to assist you in your search.  Below I’ve gathered three great cannabis friendly career search engines.

420careers.com

The names says it all.  This search engine claims to be “the leading marijuana industry job board.”  They allow both companies and job seekers to use the site for free.   Seekers can post their resume and browse open positions throughout the country.   Companies can post recent jobs as well as search job seeker resumes.   If the company wants their position to be seen more, they can upgrade services to spotlight their opening.   A quick search for city or state brings up those local positions you may be interested in.

Cannajobs

Cannajobs is an online staffing agency who is “solely dedicated to the cannabis industry.”   They offer direct hire, contract to hire, and temporary staffing services.   Companies can post jobs and search through the communities resumes.   Seekers can take a quiz to find out what positions in the industry may be best for them – as well as look for positions.  From a job seeker perspective, one drawback is that you get to apply for five positions free after that its $5 per month.

Indeed.com

So this one may surprise some of you.  Indeed.com has been around for a long time helping job seekers and companies fill positions all around the world in every industry you can think of – including the cannabis industry!  Job seekers can post their resume and set up search alerts for specific positions or industries.   Millions of companies use Indeed.com for their staffing needs.  This just goes to show you an old dog can learn some new tricks!

There are many other specific sites and/or staffing agencies out there to help you in your pursuit of a cannabis career.  Hopefully these three sites can give you a good starting point.  Happy hunting!
