Motivational Monday: Awareness

April 3rd, 2023

Each one of us is fully capable of accomplishing anything, and more importantly, everything we put our mind to. We have desires, dreams, and ambitions for our time here. Accomplishing them is no easy task, but we are aptly suited for our challenge. We truly have limitless potential residing inside. It’s lying dormant, desperately waiting for us to set the wheels in motion, enabling it to crack through the surface where it can be put to use in our pursuits. At times there can be a disconnect between our desires, dreams, and ambitions, and our current reality or perception of it. Life happens,... Read More

Motivational Monday: DAILY ACTION is required for desired results!

January 2nd, 2023

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!  Are you ready for some motivation for this week?  What if I could give you something better than just “motivation”?  What if I could give you a tool that you can use every day to achieve your goals and vision for your life?  If that sounds like something you would like, then keep reading! If you wanted to get in shape to compete in an event like a marathon, a century ride or a Spartan race, you would expect to train for at least 3 months, right?  And you would probably expect that you would need to work out consistently throughout the week, right?  ... Read More

Happy New Year!

January 1st, 2023

Happy New Year. I hope you feel refreshed and motivated for a successful year to come. I love Tony Robbin’s definition of success – Success is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want. I wish that for you! When I hear his definition, I am motivated! I want to be flying around with my favorite ex-ultimate players, and my family, visiting amazing places, once a quarter. I want to coach leaders who want to become the most effective they can be in their chosen profession. I want to practice in a beautiful office in Boulder and on the... Read More

Motivational Monday – Do you have a plan?

December 19th, 2022

We are officially in the holiday season!  Have you thought about your holiday plans?   Where will you go?  What is on your wish list?  Do you know what you will get for the special people in your life?  What parties will you attend, or will you host?  What will you eat?   Planning, planning and more planning! Think about how much time, energy, and effort we put into planning related to the holiday season. I am the first one to admit to many hours I have spent on Pinterest alone, searching decorating ideas, menus, and cookie recipes. Over 627 million results came up when I searched “Holiday... Read More

Motivational Monday – Friendship: The best holiday investment you can make!

December 12th, 2022

Humans are social beings. There are hundreds of scientific studies that prove this to be true.  I believe that that our desire for social acceptance along with a desire to be loved, are the core intrinsic motivators for most of our behavior.  I love socializing which is one of the reasons I enjoy the holiday season so much.  At a holiday party this weekend I met a woman who told me about a study that was done at the University of Kansas to determine how long it takes for friendships to develop. The article states: “In a new report published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships,... Read More

Motivational Monday: Finding Your Purpose

August 8th, 2022

I must share with you that I was so excited and honored when I was asked to be the weekly columnist for Motivational Monday.   In my high school years, as the assistant editor for the school newspaper, I had a column called “Stayin’ Alive” (yes, the Bee Gees were popular when I was in high school!) and I gave advice to students on how to survive high school.  My role as your Monday Motivator is to give you advice and guidance as well, and fortunately I have accumulated quite a bit more wisdom since my Bee Gees days.   Although I am many years out of high school, I remain a lifelong student.  ... Read More

Motivational Monday: One of those Days!

July 4th, 2022

When someone starts a comment with, “It’s been one of those days…,” what is the first thing that comes to your mind?   From my experience, that statement often leads to a rant about all the things that went wrong and usually ends with a list of excuses for why that person either did or didn’t do something. Have you ever witnessed this? When my husband came home on Friday afternoon his first words to me started with, “It’s been one of those days…”  I held my breath for a moment waiting for what he was going to say next.  He finished his sentence with,” When everything has... Read More

How to Keep it Together

February 5th, 2021

If you’re a perfectionist, like me, there’s a lot of computing, second-guessing, chaos-hating, and performance-loving energy put forth toward your best day possible. You put a lot of pressure on yourself. It’s an inefficient way to use your precious energy. For years, the game was hustle and bustle. Work harder to reap more reward. I am not saying you don’t have to work hard once you’re enlightened. This kind of work takes a lifetime to apply. Each year of your life, you will notice a little more ease flowing through your body as you apply the principles I speak of in this blog. Each... Read More

The Art of Productivity and How to Get it All Done

May 17th, 2020
about boulder

Happy Monday? What’s on your schedule for this week? Think you’ll get it all done? Productivity is an art. Art is a creative process that enrolls our entire brain to participate. Logic, memory, perception, organization, abstract thinking, judgment, reasoning, and attention all work cohesively to produce this magic. Productivity measures the efficiency of production. What will you produce this week and how will you stay efficient while you make your dreams come true? Productivity is more of a dance than a linear process. So it is an art, not a science. The magic comes from your quiet mind,... Read More

Motivation Monday – Routine is the Key to a Happy Life

March 16th, 2020
motivation monday kate galt

It’s Monday again. The sun rises an hour earlier for us, in Boulder, Colorado. As a morning person, I favor the morning, and I want you to favor the early morning because it’s a time of seeing and actualizing great potential. I hope you have taken advantage of the time change and moved your wake-up time one hour earlier to max out those potent morning hours. If you haven’t, it’s not too late to move your bedtime earlier, in 15-minute increments, each day. By next Monday, you’ll have easily reached your goal. Let’s discuss how you can maximize your early morning hours to motivate, energize,... Read More

Monday Motivation – How to get motivated when you feel beat up?

March 9th, 2020

Those of you who know me, know that I am a sports nut.  Having been an elite athlete myself, I appreciate all aspects of competition from the physical exertion to the mental component to the coaching tactics.  I have never competed in a football or a soccer game, but I still get very emotionally involved as a spectator.  Over the past three days, my favorite two football teams lost (CU Buffs and Broncos) and one of my favorite soccer teams lost (CU Women’s soccer) and one of my favorite soccer teams won!  (Grace College Women’s Team) As a participant and a fan, we ride the ups and downs... Read More

Monday Motivation: Trick or Treat Motivation

October 29th, 2018

Hi Everyone, Happy Monday!  This coming Wednesday is one of the best opportunities of the year to witness some of the highest levels of motivation and determination. The goal?  CANDY! I am a firm believer that there is so much we can learn from children and by adopting a childlike mindset.   For this week’s motivation I am going to borrow lessons that we can all learn from kids as it applies to the adventure of trick or treating. I cannot help but think of the sheer determination millions of children across the US put into action on Halloween.   I don’t know about you, but I certainly... Read More

Motivational Monday

February 26th, 2018

Let’s continue in this dark end of winter discussing burnout, so come spring and summer, we have clear intentions on how to combat burnout and create our anti-burnout limits. In one major traveling job, I was continually given more territory. My territory got way too big, and I was gone 90% of the time. I had only signed up to be away from my home 50% of the time, and this pushed my limit. I didn’t want to seem like a prima donna, never satisfied. I wanted to be grateful for the work I had but it was too much. I was resentful. In my commitment to endurance, I negotiated big-time with the company,... Read More

Let the Love In

December 26th, 2017

Good Morning. Merry Christmas if that’s your thing. Today is an auspicious day, and I am honored to reach out and motivate you on Christmas Day. Christmas calls for a different type of motivation. It’s not necessarily category 4, the ‘doing less to rest’ category, especially if you’re hosting family and friends today. Hopefully your day will consist of some R & R, but today calls for a certain presence, to be aware of throughout the cold, shadowy, and sometimes overwhelming series of events. Christmas is a day where we span the gamut of emotions, thoughts, and judgments. It’s also... Read More

Your New Religion for 2018

December 11th, 2017

Your new religion is a Morning Ritual to get you set for the day We have discussed the importance of goal reflecting on your direction in life.  If you want to direct your life in the ways that align with what you care about, your values, then goal reflection and goal setting are the way to move forward. Goal Setting/Attaining is an action that boldly states you will not let life pass you by, you are the major player in your arena. Life may have other plans for you, here and there, but set your general direction to make goals, stick with them, and learn from the process of living them. Today,... Read More

2017. Put a Period on it.

December 4th, 2017

Reflect. Learn. Say Goodbye. Move On. December marks the end of 2017. Nostalgia is a wonderful place to go, especially this time of year. Cinnamon, cloves, pine, brisk air, presents from the past – these are all memories we have. I won’t remember the details of my successes and failures, but I will remember my daughter’s mini-voice as it gets lower each year, how my son learned to walk, and would crack us all up with his arms waving to the sides as he stepped. I will remember that I got more efficient at grocery shopping.  Take the time to reflect, and let go. When you hold... Read More

T minus 35 days until 2018! Review Goals & Celebrate

November 27th, 2017

The dance of productivity continues through the end of the fourth quarter. 2017 will wrap up in 35 days. For the next few blogs, lets focus on goals, intentions, and actions that you made in January of 2017. Do you remember? Did you write them down? A goal is a specific action that you wanted to reach. An intention is a larger picture of sticking to something, a lifestyle, if you will. The actions follow the goals and intentions, which create choices that propel you forward in your desired direction. Last winter, I wrote my goals down. I am especially proud I took into account that I’m... Read More

Turkey Hats and Out-breaths, A Week of Thanks

November 20th, 2017
Kate Galt

My daughter notices turkey hats everywhere she goes. She puts them on her head and smiles at me. I give thanks for that. You may gather with friends, you may travel to family, or you may do your own thing. Outside, the shadowy landscape howls with wind and darkness, a time to celebrate the light within you. Today, the contrast of light and dark is prominent, which reminds us to honor each little light that shines in your life. November is a turning point in the year, a place to go inward for introspection. Receive the messages that come to you on a whim, this is your intuition. When you listen,... Read More

The Time Change, Your Bonus Hour

November 6th, 2017
motivation monday

Good Morning, The time change gave us an extra hour. That’s a motivating start to this week. Each November, during the daylight savings change, I make a pact with myself to keep waking up at 6 when it’s really 5, so that it ‘seems’ like I’m waking up earlier, but I just keep the same ‘time’ before we fall back. Do you say the same thing to yourself? Do you want to be a morning person, but can’t keep a rhythm? I’ll go into depth on this one in a few weeks. That was me until this year. This year, I woke up at 4am. Well, 4am is just a little too early to justify getting out of... Read More
