Boulder’s Motivation Monday: Our Spring Palette Unveiled!

May 6th, 2024

‘Tis the season to smell the Boulder flowers! While flower pics may cheer us during short winter days, it is hard to compete with the beauty and fragrance of lilacs in the Spring. Lilacs are in full bloom, and the perfume permeates the Boulder air. Flowering trees astonish us with the sheer mass of their presence and overwhelming beauty. I find myself pulling over and grabbing my camera (phone) and my nose from the shotgun seat. I walk around the trees and bushes without trespassing. The photo ops show why I have 15,000 pictures on my phone alone. Personally I do not reuse “chips”... Read More

Boulder Motivates! Monday Madness: Plan and Build!

April 1st, 2024

We start with calm planning. The architect combines art and science, beauty and engineering. The architect appears here in the style of Vermeer. Let’s us start with art as we build on that foundation. Monday Motivation comes from teamwork, one step at a time. One line, one drafting pencil, a ruler, and a building floor appears on the drafting table. Even Without Computer Drafting, Art Springs from the Drafting Table as a Building takes shape. Planning for Art is Art! Museum walls are decorated with drawings, not just with paintings! Plans Rise Into Towers, in Boulder, in NYC, or in Anyplace... Read More

Motivational Monday: One of those Days!

January 15th, 2024

When someone starts a comment with, “It’s been one of those days…,” what is the first thing that comes to your mind?   From my experience, that statement often leads to a rant about all the things that went wrong and usually ends with a list of excuses for why that person either did or didn’t do something. Have you ever witnessed this? When my husband came home on Friday afternoon his first words to me started with, “It’s been one of those days…”  I held my breath for a moment waiting for what he was going to say next.  He finished his sentence with,” When everything has... Read More

Motivational Monday: Awareness

December 11th, 2023

Each one of us is fully capable of accomplishing anything, and more importantly, everything we put our mind to. We have desires, dreams, and ambitions for our time here. Accomplishing them is no easy task, but we are aptly suited for our challenge. We truly have limitless potential residing inside. It’s lying dormant, desperately waiting for us to set the wheels in motion, enabling it to crack through the surface where it can be put to use in our pursuits. At times there can be a disconnect between our desires, dreams, and ambitions, and our current reality or perception of it. Life happens,... Read More

Motivational Monday: Finding Your Purpose

September 11th, 2023

I must share with you that I was so excited and honored when I was asked to be the weekly columnist for Motivational Monday.   In my high school years, as the assistant editor for the school newspaper, I had a column called “Stayin’ Alive” (yes, the Bee Gees were popular when I was in high school!) and I gave advice to students on how to survive high school.  My role as your Monday Motivator is to give you advice and guidance as well, and fortunately I have accumulated quite a bit more wisdom since my Bee Gees days.   Although I am many years out of high school, I remain a lifelong student.  ... Read More

Happy New Year!

January 1st, 2023

Happy New Year. I hope you feel refreshed and motivated for a successful year to come. I love Tony Robbin’s definition of success – Success is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want. I wish that for you! When I hear his definition, I am motivated! I want to be flying around with my favorite ex-ultimate players, and my family, visiting amazing places, once a quarter. I want to coach leaders who want to become the most effective they can be in their chosen profession. I want to practice in a beautiful office in Boulder and on the... Read More
