Cadence Tucker is a filmmaker, videographer, photographer, and multimedia storyteller at the University of Colorado Boulder whose work is rooted in a deep belief in the power of stories to connect people, preserve experiences, and bring communities together.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Cadence always imagined that her passion for media and storytelling would take her far from home—she just never expected that journey to lead her to the Rocky Mountains. Whether by fate or chance, Colorado became the place where her creative ambitions found a home.

Since her freshman year at CU Boulder, Cadence has been an integral part of the CU Men’s Division I Hockey program. She began behind the camera as a videographer and grew into the role of team manager, where she now oversees team operations, manages content and social media platforms, and leads the program’s intern team. What began as an opportunity to tell stories at the rink became something even more meaningful: a community and a family.

Cadence’s passion for storytelling has also taken her far beyond Boulder. She has explored the ancient streets and cinematic history of Rome through the study of film and expanded her own creative experience by filmmaking in Edinburgh. These international experiences have strengthened her belief that stories—whether told through film, photography, writing, or another artistic medium—are among the most powerful tools humans possess.

For Cadence, art is more than entertainment. It influences us, connects us, challenges us, and preserves pieces of the human experience that might otherwise be lost. She can talk about movies, filmmaking, and virtually any form of art for hours, and she has enormous respect for those who choose a creative path.
