Faces of Boulder – Pic of the Day!
Accountant by day; saving people from the rat race by night. Well, not really—it’s usually weekends. Karen isn’t what people would consider a super hero. After all, she’s “just an accountant”, but she found her own inner peace and is determined to help others find theirs. “I started watching Sadhguru on Youtube before going to this retreat with Inner Engineering ” The program centers around meditation and traditional Indian yoga. “It changed my life. I started slowing down to enjoy life. I’m happier overall.” She hopes that Inner Engineering can change other people’s lives as well and pull people out of the rat race that we call life. “It’s really what was missing in my life.”
Photography isn’t just about capturing a moment; it’s about capturing personality and a story. After graduating from University of Denver with a criminology degree, Stephanie Tyson wasn’t a hundred percent sure what she wanted to do. A summer spent photographing the zipline at the Colorado Adventure Center in Idaho Springs, decided her passion for photography can’t be ignored for the “practical” approach of a life in the office. Born and raised in Colorado, she is no stranger to the beauty that this state has, both in landscape and in people. Her heart lies with the ocean, and when she gets the chance, you can find her sitting on the shore line shooting surfers all day. During the summer, there’s a good chance she’s exploring or hanging out on the fence line at a rodeo with her camera. All other times, you can find her in Starbucks, curled up with her cat, or at the archery range.
