Gunbarrel: named after a historic local stagecoach route

1. Take a tea tour

Nationwide tea-maker Celestial Seasonings is based out of Gunbarrel. Locals and tourists alike can take a free tour of the tea factory, where you can learn how their tea is made, experience the infamous mint room, and taste samples. After the tour you can visit the tea shop and buy their every day and limited edition teas, or sit down with a cup at the Celestial Cafe.

2. Visit Twin Lakes Open Space

Twin Lakes Open Space has plenty of trails, both of which are accepting of dogs (though the trail has specific on-leash and off-leash sections; check out their website for more information). Twin Lakes also has wetland wildlife and fishing opportunities to spend a relaxing afternoon.

3. Hike at White Rocks Trailhead

White Rocks Trailhead is a unique hiking opportunity because many of the trails are wheelchair accessible. In addition, the trails also allow for horses, provided you keep them on the designated path to preserve the wildlife. The family-friendly trails are sprawled throughout Gunbarrel, including through some private property, so be sure to grab a map before you go!
