Motivational Monday: DAILY ACTION is required for desired results!

June 19th, 2023
Person Climbing on Mountain

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!  Are you ready for some motivation for this week?  What if I could give you something better than just “motivation”?  What if I could give you a tool that you can use every day to achieve your goals and vision for your life?  If that sounds like something you would like, then keep reading! If you wanted to get in shape to compete in an event like a marathon, a century ride or a Spartan race, you would expect to train for at least 3 months, right?  And you would probably expect that you would need to work out consistently throughout the week, right?  ... Read More

1 > 0

July 26th, 2020

I watched a video a couple weeks ago by Gary Vayerchuk. He is a very successful entrepreneur, author, etc. I honestly don’t know a lot about him, but he seems like a pretty cool dude. He created a video that talked about the struggle he faced in building his business. He is world renown now, but it wasn’t always that way. Vaynerchuk has millions of followers but nobody knows of his early struggles. Nobody knows of the battle he faced in building his millions of followers. The concept that he talked about that was so appealing to me was called, “1 is greater than 0”. He said that if one... Read More

20 Minutes of Action

September 23rd, 2016

Yesterday I attended an event on my campus called 20 Minutes of Action. This was in response to the comment that Brock Turner’s father had made about his son’s 6-month sentence in prison being a steep price for “20 minutes of action.” For those who are not familiar with Brock Turner’s case, he was a student athlete at Stanford who had raped an unconscious girl and basically got off scot free. The event on campus was supposed to represent standing up against campus sexual assault and campus violence. It was held in front of the UMC on the lawn and an estimate of about eighty people showed... Read More

This Holiday Season, Give the Gift of Action!

December 18th, 2015

Boulder is a town filled with doers: people who would rather get up at the crack of dawn and summit a mountain than sit on their couch and watch television. I believe that this characteristic, the preference toward action over inaction, is what drives so much of the entrepreneurial success in our community. For a town of around 150,000 people, Boulder pulls more than its weight in the international entrepreneurship scene. This means that each of us Boulderites have to do more individually, and thus be stronger as a community. This holiday season, think about the entrepreneur in your life, whether... Read More

Get the Bat Off Your Shoulders

December 8th, 2014

The count is 2 and 2 as you dig in to the batter’s box. The bat is firmly resting on your right shoulder. Your hands are loosely gripping the 33-inch wooden Louisville Slugger. You feel the viscosity of the pine tar between your palms. You feel the muscles in your legs clutching as the pitcher starts his wind up. You stride towards the mound as the pitcher releases the ball. The ball appears to be a fastball heading towards the outside corner. It appears to be ball 3. It’s too close to risk. Something inside of you prevents you from starting your swing as the ball pops into the catcher’s... Read More

What is Your “B” Through “Y”?

November 3rd, 2014

Everybody has an “A”. An “A” is your current stage in life. It is where you are at right now. Whether we are talking about your personal relationships, your career or your religion. “A” is the point you are at-at this particular moment. “Z” is your ultimate destination. Not a lot of people have a clear-cut destination in mind. This is very important. If you do not know where you are headed, or where you would like to be, this article will be of no assistance to you. Having a destination in mind is important. Having goals is what life is all about. If you are not set on accomplishing... Read More

The 3 Hidden Powers of N.O.W.

October 6th, 2014

“Do not wait for a change of environment; it may never come. Your only way of reaching a better environment is by making constructive use of your present environment. Only the most complete use of your present environment will place you in a more desirable one.” – Wallace D. Wattles “Now” is not a synonym for “soon”. Now means now. In its relation to success, it means doing what you can, with your current resources, in your present environment, to move yourself forward. When you are inspired or compelled to do something, you must capitalize on that initial surge of adrenaline. The... Read More
