April 15th, 2023

Being a senior doesn’t always mean graduating on time. Spring semester for these students is just another ordinary semester. For the seniors who are graduating in May though, Spring semester provides the ultimate realization: the perfect combination of freedom and a general lack of adult-ing is coming to a dreaded end. Have no fear, seniors. Here is a guide to surviving and thriving during the last semester. 1) Get out of your comfort zone – Life doesn’t truly begin until you have, and on top of that, now is more of a time than ever to throw yourself into new situations such as... Read More

Senior Bucket List – CU Boulder

February 21st, 2023

Photo Credit: whyismarko.com I’ve mentioned in my other blogs that I am a senior and that this is my last semester of college. With that being said, my friends and I want to live out our last few months together the best way we can, so we are going to make a bucket list! Seven seniors who live together and have been quarantined together held the ceremony from their front porch with live music, a commencement speaker and a champagne toast on a video conference call. “Porchuation is awesome. I’m really happy that... Read More

Cannabis for Seniors

February 24th, 2018

With the legalization of cannabis across more states and the stigma surrounding the plant and its users shifting, so has the demographic of people benefiting from the plant. According to the CDC, Americans aged 55-64 who use marijuana regularly has risen by 455%. Those aged 65 and older has risen by 333% from 2002-2014. Why is this shift occurring and how can seniors benefit from cannabis? We know that each person has their own endocannabinoid system. The endocannabioid system has recently been recognized as the most important modulatory system within the body. It is responsible for regulating... Read More
