A Game of Numbers

January 3rd, 2019
crowd of blurred men

So, I’ve been dating. It’s a rather obvious statement, but I’m saying it here with a real air of assertiveness that lets you know that I’m “for real,” because dating is what I should be doing if I am blatantly putting out into the universe that I’d like a partner in crime. And, as painful as dating can be (and, take my word for it, it can be unbelievably painful), the only way to get better at anything is by doing it. Over and over and over again. So, I’ve spent the last few months committed to putting myself out there more as a means of sharpening the side of me that would rather... Read More

Top 3 Benefits for Juicing Raw Cannabis

March 31st, 2018

Cannabis can be consumed in several forms. You can smoke it, vape it, eat it, and apply it topically to your skin to be absorbed into the blood stream. One way to take advantage of the health benefits of cannabis is to add the plant to your diet. A lot of people think about eating hemp foods, or hemp protein powder when they think about consuming cannabis for nutrition. Another way, growing in popularity, is to juice raw cannabis leaves like you would any other fruit or vegetable. Health and Wellness The health benefits of juicing raw cannabis come in many forms. First, you have similar nutritional... Read More

All the Good Bites and Beets

March 6th, 2018

A simple google search brought me to 3303 30th St, in Boulder. I gave Blooming Beets a chance, and in return they opened up a menu of opportunities to me. I finally felt a love for food all thanks to them. It is one of the few places I have found that is a paleo only restaurant; I was endeared to it on this aspect alone. Then, throw in the fact that they can do an AIP menu on request, proudly display who they get their food from, are completely gluten and grain free, and support local vendors, I wanted to forever be bragging about Blooming Beets. I will rave to friends, family, and the internet... Read More

An Evening Dining at Leaf

February 6th, 2018

If you love elegance, quaint, and ethical eats than Leaf, Boulder’s vegetarian restaurant, is a must! I arrived for a lovely Wednesday evening at 2010 16th St. Walking into the Leaf was nothing like I had expected. It carried a classic and sophisticated ambiance, white walls and large ceilings add to the aura of a warm and timeless feel. I surveyed the room to see plenty of people in their 40s and 50s sipping wine as well as the six-year-old enjoying her personal pizza. It is far from the groovy and granola vibe of most vegetarian restaurants. Warm soft white globe light hung from the ceilings.... Read More

Gluten-Free and Potions: Shine Restaurant

September 11th, 2014

Boulder is known for many things. One thing is our priority to health and immersing ourselves in the latest health food trends. So it’s not surprise there are a plethora of gluten-free, paleo, or vegan options around Boulder. (Yes, it’s true, Boulder and “gluten-free” seem to go hand in hand… at least from beyond the Boulder County borders). I realize that being gluten-free and being a foodie contradict each other, but I try to live by a 90-10 diet (90% GF, 10% not… although it’s beginning to seem a lot more 80-20.) Which is where my new favorite restaurant... Read More

Zoe Ma Ma: You’ll Never Look At Take Out The Same Again.

May 22nd, 2014

If you know me, you know there is one place I’m always craving. It’s kind of my favorite restaurant… (Actually, it is my favorite restaurant…) Not many people remember it’s here. In fact, if you’re a fellow Boulderite, you’ve more than likely swiftly passed over it on your way to Pasta Jay’s or the West End. But I’m gonna let you in on this Boulder gem: Zoe Ma Ma’s. Its quite possibly some of the best traditional, Chinese, comfort food you can find. None of your typical Chinese take out of General Tsao’s or rubbery sesame chicken and rice…... Read More

Ten Reasons Why Boulder Rocks

March 12th, 2014

Happy cows may come from California, but happy people come from Boulder. And for good reason! Boulder has so much to offer, it’s no wonder that people here are considered to be among the happiest in the country. Narrowing this list down was the real challenge, but here are ten reasons why Boulder rocks: 1. Hiking, Biking, and Climbing Okay, maybe that’s three reasons, but the main theme here is mountains. Nestled right at the base of the Rockies, Boulder has over 300 miles of hiking and biking trails, and countless opportunities for climbing and bouldering (imagine that). Even if you don’t... Read More

A Trip to the Boulder County Farmers’ Market

September 1st, 2013

On Wednesday, August 28, I decided to get out of the house and stroll over to the Boulder Farmers’ Market for a real “only in Boulder” experience, and I’m happy to say that I got what I came for. I arrived at the market at around 5:30 p.m and found the place crawling with people. All walks of life were present here, ranging from old dreadlocked hippies to young dreadlocked hippies. There were also plenty of families with young children, students, and a handful of colorful characters, including a man in a superhero costume and a man in a tie-dye jumpsuit making balloon animals.... Read More
