Originally from Chicago, Gerardo studied Sustainable Business at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He first moved to Colorado to become a summer naturalist and sustainability intern in the Vail/Avon area were he led interpretive nature hikes, wrote for the Vail Daily's online column, and participated in community outreach initiatives. His passion for photography began with his involvement in the high school yearbook- later supplemented in college with courses in digital and film photography. Guided by the notion that a sense of community is a prerequisite for sustainability, he hopes to further unite the Faces of Boulder by sharing their stories.
