Meet Andie Doak!  She is a (get ready) third-year molecular, cellular and developmental biology major and philosophy minor (phew!) at the University of Colorado Boulder.  Doak was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. “Boulder is close to the mountains yet still very much a city.  That is hard to find,” Doak says. Meet Rockies and fantasy baseball fan, Brian Morton! Representing for the big opener in Denver today, Morton is ready to watch a great game. “I’m looking forward to the Rockies still being awesome,” he says, confident that the Cubs will go down tonight at Coors Field. Morton, a philosophy and math double major at CU, has lived in the Louisville and Boulder area his entire life. “Boulder is the San Francisco of the mountain west,” Morton says, “It has grown a ton, but the culture hasn’t changed at all.” So what do you say? Taking a break in the shade with his buddies by the Boulder Creek, Tony Masar loves this beautiful spring weather. Masar is an Erie native who works and spends his weekends here in Boulder. He skis, snowboards and camps–to name just a few. “It’s a great outdoors place,” he says, “My wife and kids love to hang out by the creek and walk the Pearl Street Mall.” Masar says that he has a hard time getting his kids off of the rocks on Pearl Street. “They love playing on those things!” He recommends the Chautauqua trails for those looking for hikes here in Boulder. Meet Margarita Delgado, a retired forensic psychologist from Massachusetts. When asked about the strangest thing she has ever seen here in Boulder, her response may surprise you. “The kindness of the people here. It is strange to see how kind they are.” Delgado also claims that Boulder’s weather is the best she has ever seen!  She loves to walk around the University of Colorado campus and attend classes. “Being in the classroom makes me feel young and happy,” she says.  Read More

“It’s fun out here!” Michael Stedman, born and raised in Longmont, Colorado, has been working for Fast Eddie’s Hot Dogs since last spring. Fast Eddie’s has been in business for 25 years, becoming one of the hottest spots on the Pearl Street Mall, especially at night. “It’s free entertainment,” says Stedman, “there’s nothing like the bar crowd at night. Meet Steelers and Penguins fan, Jason Zielinski!  After only being in Boulder for a couple months, he said that this city has surprised him. “The culture here is so free spirited,” he said. “Although, that shouldn’t have surprised me.” He has run one full marathon and two half-marathons, both his hometown of Pittsburgh.  Zielinski started running to beat his sister’s times and has continued running since.  He loves the outdoors and says he has already hiked all the flatirons since he has been in Boulder. Meet Cindy Shoemaker of Honeyacre! This is their farm’s 30th year in business and 28th year attending the Boulder Farmer’s Market!  Fourteen people run the farm and they have 5,000 tomato plants growing this season! Shoemaker is proud to say that all of their products are pesticide and chemical free and their meat is 100% grass fed! Many people are surprised when they hear Honeyacre grows roses and cantaloupe!  They have now started making honey as well! Meet Logan Silbert! He is the co-owner of Netik Clothing and Boulder Granola-and he is only 23! Silbert is originally from New York but he says that he belongs out here in Boulder. “It was just so stressed out there,” he says.  Now when he needs to get away from the busy Boulder life, he can take a short drive to the mountains and snowboard. “Snowboarding is my life,” he says.
