All Hallows Eve draws near, and the city is alive with all manner of celebration. As darkness drapes over the sky earlier and earlier, the nightlights guide the way toward fun and frivolity during the Halloween weekend. Though house parties will be prevalent, if you desire some other entertainment there are a lot of options for the holiday.
For a fun spout of drinks and dancing this Thursday night, ladies drink free at the Absinthe House from 9pm to close. There is a rooftop patio that overlooks the beautiful downtown to dance under the starlight or observe the costumes coming out to play.
Also on Thursday, the classic movie The Big Lebowski will be the feature film at the Boulder Theater. The hilarious installment from the Coen brothers is sure to entice some die-hard fans, potentially even some costumes.
If you would rather electronic music, the black helmeted trio called Black Tiger Sex Machine, will be at the Fox Theater on Thursday. Hailing from Canada they will be performing their genre of “Futuristic Thriller” to an expectant audience. Friday and Saturday the Fox will also be having a two night feature of psychedelic EDM from Mimosa with KRADDY.
On Friday and Saturday at the Boulder Theater Denver formed band DeVotchKa will be performing. For those who have still not seen the gypsy ensemble’s performance it is certainly worth it. They will be performing with Shel and Gipsy Moon it should make for a mesmerizing and enchanting evening.
On Friday if you are looking to do something out of the ordinary and are feeling crafty and have the urge to sing head over to Color Me Mine to paint ceramics and sing Karaoke from 7-midnight.
The West End Tavern will be hosting a two night Halloween weekend as well. As part of their Halloween Weekend on Friday they are having a throwback to 1987, the year they opened, with drink specials and 80’s music all night long! The following night head back over for their Zombie Night on Halloween. They will be featuring Dawn of the Red, an I.R.A. Ale from Ninkansi Brewing company.
Saturday, Shine is hosting a free Halloween Extravaganza featuring DJ Jasonic. Dance the night away and show off your costume at this free event.
