Dead & Co., Folk Dancing, Band on the Bricks, and MORE
This week in Boulder we have music from John Mayer and Dead & Co, Folk Dancing in Central Park, and much more. In anticipation for Saturday’s Dead & Co show at Folsom Field, the Boulder Theater will be hosting a Grateful Dead listening party in the lounge on Tuesday June 6th as well as a late night “post Dead” party on June 9th at 10pm. The Boulder Farmer’s Market will once again take place on Wednesday evenings from 4pm-8pm and Saturday’s from 8am-2pm on 13th St. The Boulder Reservoir will be the place for “BAM Open Water Swims,” where you can spend the day on and in the water in a fun and causal environment.
Tuesday June 6th
Ground yourself for the week and head on over to Prana’s Creative Flow yoga class, open and free to the public, this class encourages open minds and exploring your physical abilities in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The class runs from 12pm-1pm at Prana’s Broadway and Pearl St location. If you’re feeling adventurous and in need of something new, check out Folk Dancing on the Plaza which will take place beside the 13th St. Dushanbe Teahouse from 7pm to 10pm. Come with a partner or venture there single and ready to dance. Admission is free and all dances are taught on sight.
Wednesday June 6th
Bands on the Bricks will have its first night on Pearl St of the Summer season. From alternative to classic rock and more, Pearl St will be home to countless tunes and endless entertainment. From local musicians to beer and margaritas, this Wednesday evening will be anything but boring. Bands on the Bricks will run for 10 weeks every Wednesday evening from 5:40pm to 9pm by 13th St in downtown Boulder.
Sunday June 11th
Today Boulder will be home to one of the biggest IRONMAN races in the world; watch, support, or participate in the day long triathlon taking place all across Boulder. Over 2000 athletes will compete and participate; including an IRONKIDS Fun Run 1/4 or full mile run—each athletes get a finisher shirt and hat, medal and goodie bag.
After the race concludes, head over to Folsom Field for some Dead & Company jams. Enjoy as the remaining members of Grateful Dead rock out through the weekend with their two-day (Saturday and Sunday) concert—the ultimate Boulder summer kick off event!
Today also marks the start of the three day Colorado Shakespeare Festival taking place ni the Mary Rippon Outdoor theatre on CU Boulder’s Campus. The event will begin today June 11th and run through August 13th. Tickets are available online through cupresents.org.
