Faces of Boulder: BOLDERBoulder Finish Line Edition

Celebrating the Festive Finish at Folsom Field

Every Memorial Day, Boulder transforms into a vibrant sea of runners, walkers, costumes, and cheers as tens of thousands descend upon the city for the legendary BOLDERBoulder 10K. And while the entire course is alive with energy, there’s something extra magical about the finish line—where dreams, determination, and celebration collide at the iconic Folsom Field.

Folsom Field: A Finish Line Like No Other
Built in 1924 and framed by the stunning Flatirons, Folsom Field is typically home to CU Buffs football. But on Memorial Day, it becomes a stadium of triumph. With more than 50,000 seats filled with cheering fans, runners round the corner and enter the stadium to a thunderous ovation. There’s no finish line in the country quite like it—raw energy, emotion, and accomplishment echo through every step.

Faces in Costume, Feet in Motion
What sets the BOLDERBoulder apart is the personality. Runners don’t just show up—they show off. Whether it’s Wonder Woman sprinting past a taco, or a group of dinosaurs jogging in sync, the race is a festival of creativity. Families, college students, seasoned racers, and first-timers alike embrace the spirit, making the course one long costume parade with a 10K twist.

More Than a Race: A Day of Remembrance
At noon, Folsom Field becomes the stage for one of the nation’s largest Memorial Day tributes. The ceremony includes military honors, skydivers, flyovers, and a powerful moment of silence. It’s a reminder that the day is about more than just running—it’s about community, country, and honoring those who served.
