Summer is just around the corner even if mother nature threw some cold, wet weather at us this week and it’s shaping up to be a busy season for the folks over at Avery Brewing Company! Starting the summer off right (even if the ground is still wet from the late season snow day yesterday), the Real Peel IPA is being released today. Promising to be a crisp, refreshing twist on the classic IPA, tangerine peels used during the brewing process will add some citrus and zest. Sounds perfect for warm evenings grilling out on the patio!

For those of you who are as excited as me about all of the new sour beers that seem to be popping up, the 7th Annual Avery SourFest will be held on June 24th. Tickets for this event went on sale May 12th but there are still some available through the Avery website. Don’t wait too long to get yours though, these babies sell out pretty quickly. Bonus: all proceeds from this event will go to Attention Homes, an organization that provides vital resources for youth in crisis.

And, to keep you in shape in the midst of all that beer drinking, Avery will be hosting their Four on the Fourth 4K. Registration is already open for this Fourth of July 4K to give you plenty of time to prepare for the 2.48 mile race. The route is fairly flat, there are awards for each age group, and everyone gets a full breakfast and Avery beer at the finish line. What are these awards for race winners? 1st place gets a case of beer and 2nd and 3rd place get 2 six-packs each!

So, say goodbye to this melting snow and hello to rising temperatures with a Real Peel IPA, tickets for the 7th Annual Avery SourFest, and a Four on the Fourth 4K registration!

Cheers!
