First, the less good news. Boulder‘s beloved and respected Lady Buffs were beaten tonight. Now for the rest of the story. WHAT A GAME!!! The score was within a couple of points or tied for most of the game. Only at the end did UCLA pull ahead. The fantastic crowd expressed verbal displeasure with some of the officiating. From what I could see, I’m with the crowd on this one. And what a crowd it was! 11,600 people, ALL of whom were a pleasure to share the room with. While of course disappointed that our Lady Buffs did not win this one, the game was fantastic, and the entire evening was as well. The staff was marvelous. The traffic cones to get people in and out, and the staffing of the intersections was even well thought out and well executed. All in all, this lose was a win in so many ways!

And then…the shots from the corners. I’m talking about 3 point shots from the corner, being made by several of our superstars. Simply marvelous Some of the foul shots were so precise that I did not see the net move!  These BUFFS are 100% athlete and 100% heart! What a wonderful experience, from the game to the overall vibe. And $10 a seat! You can’t get a ticket for a movie for that little! And generally the movie will not be as good as this game was.

What is consistent with the great attitude and behavior of the crowd was the respect with which the teams treated each other. ONLY after enough of the “contact” part of the contact sport had been exhibited in this very high level of play. These BUFFS are stupendous, and a real treat, and a bargain to boot!

The 5 best flying disc Frisbee dogs in the USA put on a show between periods 2 and 3. That was icing on the cake. I’m unable to easily recall having had more fun at a sporting event that was ultimately lost by the hometown heroes.

The Champions of Dog-Human Teams Did a GREAT Show To Add To The Entertainment.
