The clatter of the aspen leaves dancing in the wind sweeps down the mountains. Sweaters, scarves and coats adorn the locals traversing the city. The weekend is approaching with all its promise. The Holidays of feasting in the warm indoors draws near and Boulder restaurateurs are greeting it with open arms.

First Bite Boulder will be running throughout the city the 13th through the 21. This annual event features the delectable variety of the Boulder Restaurant scene. As the week unfolds over 40 restaurants have special three course meal options for the fixed price of $29.  Come and celebrate the culinary splendor.

If an evening of activism finds your fancy, Sleep Out Boulder will be having an overnight fundraising pledge drive camp out from Thursday at 7pm until Friday at 5pm.  They are raising funds and awareness for our brothers and sisters that don’t have a place to call home, and youth suffering from exploitation and trafficking.

There are many options for comedy this weekend. Twisted Pine Brewery on Walnut st. hosts open-mic comedy shows every Friday at 7:30pm. Whether trying your luck on the stage or just enjoying the show swing by. If Friday doesn’t work it is a traveling open mic that is at Illegal Pete’s Restaurant on the Hill every Sunday at 9pm.

Though Halloween is past, Shine will be hosting a First Descents Masquerade on Saturday the 14th, put on by First Summit Reality.   First Descents , the Non-profit from Denver, takes young adult fighters and survivors of cancer on outdoor adventures with specialized care to meet all medical needs. The program helps youth regain confidence, build relationships. It’s  $25 a ticket that includes beer, wine, appetizers and a raffle ticket. Masks are not required but certainly add to the allure of the evening.

Saturday is Upslope Brewery’s 7th year anniversary! From 2-8 they will be bringing the party to the parking lot of the Flatirons Park Brewery. There will be live music, food trucks and of course their glorious beer! 40 + beers on tap. There is no admission price so it is lighter on the wallet. Head down and join the fun!

Have a wonderful weekend!
