tahona label

Tahona Tequila Bistro is infamous for its late night weekend dance parties held every Friday and Saturday from 10pm-close. With no cover, diverse crowds gather to dance and enjoy the wide variety of tequila that Tahona has to offer. For those of us that can’t peel ourselves from the couch or underneath the comforter of our bed, Tahona also has a fabulous happy hour.

 tahona bar

Tahona feels very welcoming right from when you step your foot in the door. The bar sits to your left and high-top tables scatter the floor of the restaurant. It is bustling. Conversations fill empty spaces in the restaurant while the staff meanders around the full tables. It is a high quality restaurant that serves excellent food, however it never feels stuffy.

Happy hour is served everyday, however the hours vary throughout the week. The schedule is the following:

Tuesday-Thursday (4pm-6pm)

Friday & Sunday (3pm-6pm)

Saturday (11:30am-6pm)

Monday (4pm-close) All night!

As with many restaurants in Boulder, Tahona offers happy hour all night on Monday so there are no worries about when you get there. There are a few other specials that are worth noting, however. On Tuesday, they have Taco Tuesdays starting at 4pm until close. This is probably my favorite night due to my insatiable love for soft shell tacos. They have beef, carnitas, chicken or veggie…I recommend getting three, my favorites being the veggie, chicken and carnitas. On Wednesdays, Tahona has Ski Pass Wednesdays. They offer happy hour prices all day to any Colorado pass holder. What?! I know, it’s crazy and very Boulder. Thanks Tahona!

tahona tequila

As expected from a Tequila Bistro, Tahona has a great selection of tequila and margaritas. Their well margarita comes in at $4 and the house margs made with 100% agave come in at $5.50. Tahona also makes their own infused tequila and sells both margaritas and shots made with this tequila. All other drinks are around $4, with wells at $3.50, house wine at $4 and bottled beer at $3.50. In addition to their stellar tacos, Tahona also has a lot of small plates. If you choose to order a small plate and a drink then you are in luck! They have yet another special called the “Daily Dos”—a daily drink paired with a small plate food item is only $7! If you’re craving some American-style Mexican food, need a shot of tequila to take the edge off of a bad day or simply just want to dance the night away on the weekend, then stop by Tahona on the West end of Pearl Street.
