Vail Resorts, a massive mountain resort company headquartered in Broomfield, is laying off almost 2000 employees from mountain properties around Colorado. Vail Resorts owns Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone, Crested Butte, as well as other properties around the country and world.

With the ski/snowboard season cut short due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, mountain resorts have been hit extremely hard. While there is a huge amount of turnover among mountain employees, seeing this amount of workers laid off this early is alarming. The U.S. is already experiencing an unprecedented amount of unemployment claims, so layoffs like this will only add fuel to the fire.
