Looking Back: CU’s Controversial Buffalo Pool is Officially Open

January 30th, 2024

As a student, I was witness to the Buffalo Pool’s construction over the course of my most recent semester. I stood on the other side of the surrounding chain link fence, hoping that I would one day get to jump into this mystical animal-shaped pool, which was nothing but a mess of dirt and construction equipment when I first saw it. Well, that day has come, and I have finally gotten to see the finalized pool. It’s pretty freakin’ neat. The pool looks fantastic and the many months of construction have clearly paid off. However, it’s no secret that this pool has been the spark... Read More

What It Means To Graduate From CU

January 27th, 2024

Graduation – A word that inflicts both fear and excitement on the students who have achieved it. I admit, the idea of graduation next year does scare me. Having two internships, I fear the 9-5 schedule that I know would weigh down on my soul. I don’t want to move away from Boulder, nor do I want CU to be only a memory. You can’t go to school forever though (although many of my 5th year graduate friends are currently skeeming ways to stay in school). Graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder means many things. You’ve graduated from one of America’s most... Read More

Saturday Sundown in Boulder. BUFFS, REST TONIGHT, WIN TOMORROW!!!

January 20th, 2024

I admit it. As one Boulderite to another, I am addicted. The rapidity of the addiction is scary, and I caution all of you! Beware of the addictive Lady Buffs’ Basketball! After only ONE game, against UCLA, I have already gotten tickets for tomorrow, Sunday’s game. PAC 12 USC is visiting, hopefully for the lessons that our BUFFS are happy to teach them! There are many reasons for my sudden addiction, including discovering that I enjoy the superstar women’s play more than the men’s basketball games. I like the skill, the heart, the speed, and the vibes. I like the length... Read More

Lady Buffs Friday Night: Boulder’s Own 100% Athletes with 100% Heart!

January 19th, 2024

First, the less good news. Boulder‘s beloved and respected Lady Buffs were beaten tonight. Now for the rest of the story. WHAT A GAME!!! The score was within a couple of points or tied for most of the game. Only at the end did UCLA pull ahead. The fantastic crowd expressed verbal displeasure with some of the officiating. From what I could see, I’m with the crowd on this one. And what a crowd it was! 11,600 people, ALL of whom were a pleasure to share the room with. While of course disappointed that our Lady Buffs did not win this one, the game was fantastic, and the entire evening... Read More

Balmy Boulder Back to SPRING! BUFFS BACK FRIDAY!

January 18th, 2024

Lensworth Photo How Cold IS negative 10 degrees F, -23 degrees C? 43 Degrees F. 6 deg C. is more than 50 degrees F above our lows of the last couple of days. For perspective, think of that as similar to going from 60 deg F to 110 deg. F. 15 deg C to 43 deg. C. Try BBQ on a day when it is 50 or 60 degrees colder than a summer BBQ!  Try cooking in your oven at 350 deg. F instead of a desired 400 Deg F. BIG DIFFERENCE! Lensworth Photo Now that we know just how cold it was, and just how warm it will be today, let’s continue to be uplifted this morning by the rising sun and by the rising Lady... Read More
