“Joint” Sessions Trumped?

March 9th, 2017

Welcome to “Habeas Cannabis: Lawyer Blows Smoke,” a blog where cannabis laws and related political issues will be discussed. For clarity’s sake, I disagree with any intrusion by the federal government into the legalization of marijuana at the state level. That said, there is nowhere to begin without first asking, what will be the Trump Administration’s federal policy regarding state legalized marijuana? Let’s start by unpacking what we know so far. Trump has ensured, without elaboration, that he is dedicated to bringing “law and order” to our inner cities. Meanwhile, Attorney General... Read More

Women’s March in Denver

January 27th, 2017

Photo Credit: Belladivadance.com Last weekend was a very historical weekend. Friday was the inauguration of President Trump (gag), and Saturday was a woman’s march that became a global event. I unfortunately was unable to attend the march that took place in Denver, but I was definitely there in spirit, and sent some energy to all the women as a collective. The turn out for the march around the world was amazing. In Denver there were 200,000 women who came together, when only 40,000 were predicted. In Los Angeles over 750,000 people participated. This week has been really rough for a lot of people. Actually rough doesn’t quite cut it, this week was more along the lines of heartbreaking, devastating, or even catastrophic. This week, as Americans, we let fear win. On Wednesday there was a group of freshman from Boulder High... Read More

Regardless who you voted for, at least you went out and expressed your views. John, pictured here, dressed himself in a makeshift cardboard box in an attempt to convince people to vote yesterday in the most polarizing election this generation has known. Love others, love yourself and always vote for what you believe in.  Read More

Trumpland

November 5th, 2016

Photo Credit: Anthony D’Alessandro This past Tuesday I went and saw the movie Trumpland by Michael Moore, which was played by CU’s International Film Series in Muenzinger auditorium. It’s a film that was very educational that I suggest everyone see before this election is over. What was really cool about this screening is that when it ended, we had a Q & A with Michael Moore who skyped in, and let me just say, for those who don’t know who he is, he is someone to be listened to. This movie can be rented on iTunes, Amazon, and I believe YouTube. Some of the facts that were in the... Read More
